SIZE MATTERS: THE LEOPARD

I am now reading the 600 page Jo Nesbo thriller The Leopard. It is providing some much needed exercise just carrying it around as it dwarfs some other books on my TBR list.
There are very few authors who could get me involved in a book of this length, but I have whizzed through the first 200 pages totally engrossed, and of course teased by a typical Nesbo's surprise plot twist. It goes without saying that the translation by Don Bartlett reads so naturally that it seems as if the book was written in English.

'Who's out of his mind?'
'We're working in a prison,' Bjorn said. 'We're risking our jobs if the boss finds out what we're up to, and our colleague in Bergen......'
'Yes?'
'She is seriously out of her mind.'
'You mean she's .....?'
'Sectioned out of her mind.'

Another Kindle disadvantage: not nearly as much exercise ;)

But I won´t even bother to check what a Danish e-book version of this one costs. (Probably more than £ 20). I can wait for a library copy.

Well, in addition to a good book, healthier than many addictions, one is getting a work-out I see, perhaps akin to weightlifting.

Am still reading "Nemesis," a project, but an interesting one.

I must admit to being turned off these days by big chunky books - a lot of my reading is done while away from the house and I find carrying these great bricks around to be quite tiresome. I am being spoiled by the eReader. I do have the next Nesbo (only his second - I'm playing catch up) in physical form and one of the reasons I haven't picked it up is sheer weight.

I'm in the midst of Nesbo's "Nemesis," and all heck is breaking out around me--nothing else is getting done, no errands, no tasks, no NY times reading.

I cannot stop reading it.

He is not the "next Stieg Larsson," but he is a terrific storyteller, etc.
