DISCUSSING CRIME FICTION?

Was this what you wanted me to translate?

Leif G.W. Persson says, "she writes like Nicke Lilltroll [cartoon figure] speaks"

Camilla Läckberg says, "He will never learn (perhaps the verb also means achieve) to get an August nomination."
What a cool post. And it says much about the climate among male & female crime writers in Sweden. Recently another acknowledged male writer, Jan Guillou, said that Stieg Larsson had only achieved his fame because he died so conveniently. So sorry for Guillou that he is not dead yet ;)

Thanks very much Dorte, you are an angel. I will try not to burden you with translations.
Jan Guillou appeared on British TV on Who is Kurt Wallander? From what I have read about him and your comment I won't be rushing to buy his books.

Thanks again.

Just checking back in as when I looked yesterday, there was no translation! Good on Camilla. And thanks, Dorte!

I was able to guess the meaning of one word: pratar, based on its resemblance to the Dutch praten. Well, skriver I guessed, too.

Dorte, do you mean to suggest there are bad relations between male and female crime writers in Sweden? My first meeting with Swedish crime writers was at a joint appearance by Helene Tursten, Hakan Nesser, Kjell Eriksson and Inger Frimansson. All seemed to get along well.

I deserve a boot in the RSS for not recalling that I had read the remark about Liza Marklund. I have a certain sympathy with her because she has written with sympathy of the plight of sub-editors.

I also did not realize that the Marklund comment has escalated into a battle.

Subeditors rule! Peter has unerringly gone for the reason I love Liza M. (Well, one of them.)
