PHILLY STORMAKTSTID

Peter Rozovsky, who blogs at Detectives Beyond Borders has written a very interesting and informative article for the Philadelphia Inquirer about the new quartet of Swedish Crime Writers, who have won "a fistful of prizes".
No the picture is not Peter, but the great Swedish King and military genius Gustavus II Adolphus.

I will confirm that that is not me; I do not wear ruffles on my collar.

And here is a list of short lists for various awards from the Swedish crime writers' academy. You'll see a number of familiar names: http://www.deckarakademin.se/priser.htm

You're welcome, and sorry about the sartorial gaffe. What made me think I saw ruffles in that collar? I must have been looking at too many stolid, prosperous burghers' wives in seventeenth-century Dutch paintings.

I don't read Swedish, but I did find the link interesting, especially the lists of winners and nominees for translated crime fiction. It's interesting to see what "foreign" crime fiction Swedish readers read. And one also is curious about the authors and titles yet to be translated into English.
