CRIME SCRAPS IS FOUR TODAY!

Crime Scraps is four years old today, and today's is the 1,029th post.
I sometimes wonder what is the life expectancy of the average blog?
Well as long as crime writers produce books that involve subjects that I know a little about, or I can pick Mrs Crime Scraps superbrain*, I can continue to blog.

*Reminder to self never to watch a Dan Brown film, Angels and Demons, with someone who has read all of Dante's Inferno, and knows more about Italian Renaissance art and theology than Robert Langdon.

Interestingly the new book I have just picked up to read, as part of my Female Crime Writers Challenge, has the line.

If stereotypes held, it should have been laughably easy; psychiatrist versus dentist, no contest.

Um...I don't know about that.

Happy blog birthday Norman (though your image has sent me in search of something sweet which I definitely do not need after a weekend of over-indulging).

LOL about Mrs Crime Scraps and Angels and Demons - I actually paid to go and see that one at the movies with a friend of mine who I knew from when I worked as an archivist - cinema was full but we were the only two who gasped at the scene where he ripped the page from the ancient manuscript - all the rest I could deal with as fun escapism but that was the bit that made the pair of us angry :)

Happy birthday, Norman, and ha ha! I am very intrigued as to the book you are reading, more dentistry ;-)

One or two up for Mrs Crime Scraps.

I have heard somewhere that blog lifetimes fall into three categories: 3 weeks, 3 years, or "for ever" ;-)

Congratulations on your blogiversity!

And don´t worry about the average blog; yours is not!

And with regard to Dan Brown, is it not difficult to watch the film with someone who knows LESS about theology than Robert Langdon????

Many Thanks Bernadette, Maxine, Dorte, Jose Ignacio, Mason, and Kerrie.
Bernadette, there was a gasping sound here as well.

Dorte, sorry I forgot you are a vicar's wife.

Maxine, well there is a dentist in it, but the rest is comfortably outside my range of experience. ;o)

Many congratulations! That's an accomplishment for sure.

I avoided the whole Dan Brown experience because my husband hates historically inaccurate fiction. :D

Thanks Karen.
I picked up October's Writing Magazine because there was a feature on How to write like Georges Simenon, which was very interesting.
Next month the feature is How to write like Dan Brown..........;o)

Ah, four years already. And I knew Crime Scraps when it was that high.

If Britain had had more men like you, the English would have better teeth.

Congratulations on your blog's anniversary. And to many more years of reporting on crime book news, and with the wit necessary to do so.

On Dan Brown, "The Da Vinci Code," became a bit much in book and movie form.It was fun to watch Tom Hanks race everywhere, although I hated the premise and conclusion. That was my first and last Dan Brown experience.

Can't wait to see what book you are reading which you mention, but look forward to the review.
