THANKS!

Thanks to everyone for their best wishes. I go back to the hospital tomorrow to have the cast removed!
I have done very little reading simply because I can't concentrate much on books, therefore I have been watching comedy DVDs, such as Dad's Army, and Roseanne, as well as the superb BBC series nature series Wild China.
I did collect enough material in hospital for several posts but more of that when I am feeling a bit better.
Only I could end up in a bed next to patient with a gunshot wound.
No, I haven't moved to LA, Chicago or Baltimore, I was in Exeter!

Oh, good grief, Norman, I hope that's better than it looks. The photograph is such that my first impression was that you are in a body cast! But I figured it out. A funny thing -- I have just been catching up on Roseanne myself. It's rather impressive stuff, particularly the first five seasons. I don't watch television, so I raid the library for DVDs I may resort to when the eyes are too tired to read. It's an iffy business, but I've seen considerably more good stuff than I ever did watching cable television. Anyway, it is good to know you are well-entertained, and of course well-taken care of (I strongly suggest you milk that for all it's worth), and are back with us. "Sometimes, when one person is missing, the whole world seems depopulated." I think Lamartine wrote that, but so it is in the world of crime fiction blogging when you are AWOL, Norman. Take easeful rest and things gently.

And only he could end up in a bed next to a blogger who is going to write about him on a crime fiction blog! Keep on the mend.

what a tantalising picture Norman! I know what you are saying about not being able to concentrate on reading or blogging. We all think that when when we are laid up, then that's when we'll get all that reading done etc. but the mind let's us down! And isn't annoying that such a simple thing as a knee can control the rest of our body! Take care. Get well. xxx

Sorry about your accident. Hope you recover without too much discomfort. I came accross your review of Phillip Kerr's "A quiet Flame" and wanted to know if you picked up on his comment about Rita Hayworth who would have been 14 in 1932 and growing up in Brooklyn, NY. I think it is a bit of a boo boo. Aside from that he is one of my favorite writers and is usually well researched on historical accuracy.
