LITERARY LEMON
My review of Andrea Canobbio's The Natural Disorder of Things is up on Euro Crime at:
I very rarely hate a book but I thought this was really terrible, and I would rather have root canal treatment than read another book written like this, with more brackets and colons than a mathematics textbook.

I laughed out loud at your review, Norm. I happen to have a copy of this book upstairs which I was thinking of sending to you, but now I won't - and I won't be reading it myself either!
Don't let me put you off reading it Maxine.
I suggested to Karen that perhaps another more literary reviewer, who likes very long sentences might want my copy.;0)
I kept on hoping it would get better as I moved on into the story, but it didn't.
I just counted the first sixty words of the one hundred and ninety three word sentence again: these colons are useful when your full stop key is stuck; rather like Harry Hole with his e trying to type Neo-Nazi. (Well that was only forty words) I had better try harder; oops sorry it is catching.
At least I made you laugh: I felt like crying reading it.
